| Eishim Uezato was born on February 2, 1927, in Araraquara, São Paulo, Brazil. At the age of seven, he was already working on a cotton plantation, helping spread chemicals to exterminate pests. When he was older, he studied to become a mechanic and got a job at the local railway, but his wages were not enough to live on and so he moved to São Paulo, the largest city in Brazil. |
He stayed there for three years, working in garages. Then, his father, who owned a thriving ice-cream store, told him "You're wasting your time!" and asked him to return to Araraquara. So Eishim did; and since then he has become a part of the history of that little store, where anyone can find him to this day selling ice-cream...
