Game of Sin & Virtue
Wood, cardboard
Around 1950
Collection of the Musée Dauphinois

Wooden base and three sections (heaven, earth, hell) of the "very ancient game of Sin & Virtue depicting the destiny of humans as well as the ensuing joy and suffering in eternity. "

The religion of Moses is based on a moral code expressed in the ten commandments that were spoken by God Himself to the assembly of His people at Mount Horeb. These ten rules, also known as the Decalogue, are the basis of the three revealed monotheistic religions.

Thus God created a world that was finished but imperfect. He gave people a set of rules and values that would allow them to transform the world and society in accordance with His will. In the eyes of all believers, this moral code is the means by which God’s work can be completed.
